It's all about the people, right?

As a growing business, Dwellings Unlimited (our parent company) needed additional staffing to address a growing client list. I joined the company and immediately started an exciting journey.
In my more than ten years with Dwellings, my focus was homeowners association management. I have experienced some very interesting things and interacted with a bunch of very intriguing people. I am a people person and enjoy discussing management (or just about anything for that matter). I answer my own phone as much as possible and address questions/concerns promptly. I routinely wave and greet homeowners during site visits. It is all about the people involved. What can I say? I love my job. Everyday seems to be an adventure.
I was so fortunate to have Ellie Crump as a mentor in those early years. She took the time from the beginning to allow me to learn from her EVERYDAY. As we worked through each aspect of the business, I paid particular attention to her level of professionalism and expertise. I believe this inspired me to take every step to develop a true professionalism and expand my knowledge base. I have spent many hours participating in seminars and classes over the years. I became a realtor during my freshman year at George Mason University and spent many evenings (as a second job of sorts) renting Dwellings' properties to a group of great tenants over the years. The commissions earned helped to pay for books and tuition. While I am now an inactive realtor, the years spent representing the company helped me to develop a solid sense of professionalism. My expertise has certainly expanded as well.
With a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration from George Mason University, I have a great hold on the concepts involved in your little government/political system (also known as your community association). Being a Board member, you deal with political factors, budgeting, contracting and personnel. All of which were my focus at GMU. Paired with my actual experiences, this degree is a priceless asset to our clients. Add my Association Management Specialist designation from the Community Association Institute and the equation is complete. Let's put this formula to work for you and your community.
